Development of Attitude Scale of People with Disabilities

Abstract

|
This study aims to develop the attitude scale of people with disabilities. Attitude scales currently in use are mostly those from foreign scholars which are developed long ago. Development of the scale has been processed based upon research articles, books, internet materials and 50 items are developed initially. Survey was administered to 187 university students and analyzed by various research methods, including factor analysis, reliability, correlation analysis. Through these processes, 15 items are finally developed which are composed of 3 factors named dignity, distance, inferiority. Criterion validity was established by correlation analysis with ATDP, SADP which are .550 and .630. Reliability analysis was performed and Cronbach`s α is .872 which is good. The Scale is expected to be used variously in the social welfare fields and be employed in future research.
